Flood threat looms as rivers continue to swell
Channel 5 -- Local rivers are threatening to overspill their banks as rain continues to fall across the area. The water is still a couple inches from the edge of Pelham Island Road in Wayland, typically one of the first places to flood when the Sudbury River gets high. The water is expected to come up another six inches Tuesday afternoon and then start to fall. A few more roads might flood in Wayland, Sudbury, Framingham and Concord. No homes are threatened. The water levels are high, but still 4 feet below the historic flooding the area experienced in 2010. Wayland's highway superintendent said a crew was out Monday clearing leaves out of storm drains. So far there are no reports of any street flooding. (:55)
