  Is this pasta shop first food vendor at Worcester Public Market?

  

  The Harding Green development at Kelley Square includes the Worcester Public Market and 48 rentals units.

  Plans for the Harding Green development at Kelley Square appear to be coming together in advance of its September opening.

  Developer Allen Fletcher's $21 million project will include 48 apartments and the Worcester Public Market.

  The news last week that Wachusett Brewery would open a 3,000-square foot taproom included this description of what the market would be, according to an article on MassLive:

  "The market will be a multi-vendor, food-oriented market in the European tradition, featuring a wide variety of retail food establishments, Fletcher said. Fresh produce, pasta, seafood, deli goods, bakery items, ice cream and a wide variety of ethnic foods will all be sold there."

  While the list of other vendors has not been announced, we may now have a hint as to the identity of one.

   

  On March 18, Jason Midwood incorporated Oni Eats LLC with the Secretary of the Commonwealth's Corporations Division.

   

  Jay Midwood is a chef of some renown. According to a column by Sarah Connell in Worcester Magazine in March, "Midwood has been an integral part of 13 opening teams at restaurants and hotels across the country. Over the last few years, he found great fulfillment teaching handmade pasta classes at Pike Place in Seattle." Her column goes on to mention his interest in the Worcester Public Market.

   

  Prior to incorporating, in early February a user named Oni Gastronomy JayMidwood created a GoFundMe, writing: "I'm asking for help to bring the city of Worcester affordable fresh handmade pasta daily. The funds will go to the purchase of equipment and start up costs. The name is being kept under wraps but the location will hopefully be in the Kelly square area."

   

  The most recent development may be most telling.

   

  On May 20, Midwood filed a business certificate with the city of Worcester under Oni Eats LLC. The business' name is listed as Pasta Mani; the address, 160 Green St., the address of the Worcester Public Market.
